Remember these two? In October, I shot Anjelica and Shane’s breathtaking lifestyle maternity session, and so I was delighted to return for a newborn session with this sweet little girl!
World, meet Aisla Gloria Jean Nielsen, born on November 14 at 9:15 in the morning at Yale New Haven hospital. She was a perfect 8 pounds, 6 ounces and 20.75 inches of love. This tiny babe has a large name for a special reason: Gloria is for Anjelica’s grandmother, who recently passed, and Shane’s grandmother, who loves her newborn namesake to pieces.
Followers of my blog might remember that Anjelica, Shane, and I had to reschedule our maternity session numerous times because of weather, so it should come to no surprise that it rained on the date of our newborn session! But this time, so we could capture those precious new baby moments, we made the best of it and kept our time together indoors and I am so, so happy with the results. Sometimes rainy day lighting is the most magical of all! And as much as I love my golden light, I also love what an overcast day brings for lighting.
In typical newborn style we had a lengthy session, full of lots of breaks, and some much needed coffee. ( any one of my clients know this is a way to my heart so can’t thank Shane enough for getting me some 😉
These quiet moments with Anjelica and Shane reveal their deep love for Aisla. Whether together or separate, this beautiful couple is so proud of their bundle of joy! Just look at her full mop of hair (decorated with a tiny pink bow) and itty bitty feet. The images of her alone show how peaceful this girl is… and I do love how the blanket spreads out from her like a mermaid tail.
Aisla will grow up around soft pink elephants, classic children’s books, and two parents who adore her. I am so glad to meet you Aisla, and let me tell you: you are going to have a blessed childhood!
