Welcome to this wonderful world Arlow Louise! The memory of this birth will forever bring a smile to my face and a warmth to my heart. I arrived at Bristol Hospital on a whim, literally minutes before it was time for Arlow’s mama to push. What an absolute coincidence and bit of serendipity! Thank goodness I did, because we truly did capture some absolutely amazing shots. While Arlow was the star of the show, her mama was the real rock star that day. This woman is my hero! It’s a rare occurrence to see someone make birthing look so incredibly easy! Her water sac came out unbroken, and after three pushes (I say “pushes”, she literally laughed her out) she was here! Little Arlow was born at 4:57pm on 4/05/2017 and weighed in at a 8lbs 5oz.

Arlow was welcomed into the world and her mother’s waiting arms, by her wonderful daddy and amazing big brother Landon, who was presented with an official ‘big brother’ gift of the ‘Classic’ Bernstein Bear book New Baby, and I very appropriate Arlow stuffed animal from the movie The Good Dinosaur. I could feel the love and raw emotion fill the room as I captured the arrival of this little bundle. The strength and support that was found in the steady communication and tender embraces from dad was a beautiful thing to behold. It’s clear to see he is her rock, her firm ground and the perfect partner with which to raise these two gorgeous kids.

From the moment she met sweet Arlow, to the last wave goodbye after wrapping up her newborn session, I never once saw a smile leave mom’s face. It’s days like these and families like this that make my heart so full for the industry I am blessed to belong to. Capturing and documenting not only the celebration of the arrival of miracles like Arlow, but the strength and power of the emotion leading up to and surrounding that moment is a truly awe inspiring thing to behold.
