A sweet love story, a cozy cafe, a ginormous ice cream cone, and some Harry Potter themed shots? Yes, please!

This adorable couple met close to four years ago by chance— what Caitlin called fate and perhaps J.K. Rowling would have called prophecy? One of their favorite Middletown bars, Eli Cannons, was hosting a special release party for a new beer, Fuzzy Baby Ducks. (Photographer Comment: Awesome name!) Caitlin and Evan had no idea they would be sipping beer and meeting the rest of their lives that night. Caitlin and her friends wound up squeezed next to Evan’s crew, and Caitlin’s sister, Elisha, wound up inserting herself into Evan’s group’s conversation (while Caitlin quietly eyed Evan). Knowing anything about this family I have a feeling it was not done subtly and Elisha eagerly just popped herself in. After awhile, information was shared, and Caitlin and Evan wound up hanging out alone one day… and jumped into love head first! Soon after, they moved in together, and their bond was forged by a shared love of books, bands, and brews.

Evan and Caitlin really wanted to make sure their engagement shoot captured who they are as a couple. The two bonded over their mutual love of the Harry Potter series, and so we just had to drop in to a local bookshop. We also spent some time outdoors on a lovely late-winter Connecticut afternoon, and I just adore the subtle New England mood of these portraits. These two definitely were kept warm by love!

And, of course, what better way to warm up than sharing a cookies and cream ice cream cone? It wasn’t quite Honeydukes… but still delicious.

This twosome will tie the knot on November 17, 2018. I am so excited to see how they inject their fun, vibrant personalities into their wedding day. Also, nerd alert… can anyone here guess the significance of that date?? 😉 This wedding will be extra special for me because they are family, and everyone knows how attached I get to my wedding clients. Imagine then trying to keep it together with someone who you played barbies, my little pony with and sang John Secada at the top of your lungs with in the back of a red mini van. Please cue the silent by slobbery tears as they say ‘I,do’, because holy crap my cousin is getting married.
