Chelsea and Nick first met in 2009… but Nick took some time working up the nerve to ask Chelsea for a date! The two were friendly with one another for years, texting each other and meeting up at hangouts of mutual friends. But, in June of 2016, the two finally went out on their first date and, over tacos, I should have known from this alone we were going to get along beautifully, realized their friendship had sparked into something more. A few days before Christmas of that same year, Nick and Chelsea purchased a townhouse right across from the beach and adopted an adorable Shepard-mix puppy who they christened Thor. Thor is about to become a Dog of Honor: because this couple is tying the knot on June 14, 2019!
Fun Fact: I first met Chelsea when she was the maid of honor to one of my most fav 😉 long time standing clients, about two years ago.
Because they live so close to the beach, and because they are having an early summer wedding, we knew we had to hold this session right on the water. The portraits on the rock are utterly romantic and whimsical, don’t you think? Though the skies were cloudy, the happy couple’s smiles were bright! Wedding Photographer Tip: Cloudy skies make for perfect lighting, so don’t fret if it is cloudy on your big day, white balance gloriousness.
I adored getting some shots of the ring and of Chelsea and Nick just being them as they strolled along on the sand, with only a tiny bit of help from me. 😉 (I guess Connecticut does have some decent beaches) I also loved getting to meet Thor, who was such a well behaved pup! This trio loves each other so much, and their wedding is going to be full of love and happiness.
And remember those little clouds I mentioned? Right after Nick sweetly swept Chelsea off her feet (literally, with a little help from his man muscles;) the heavens opened up and drenched us all! I think that’s a good omen of things to come, don’t you??
